>>2200987>>2200989the single biggest weakness of lucid dreaming when trying to visit the anime world is the resulting inauthenticity of the experience. not just a lack of immersion, but rationalizing and trying to self-actualize and "knowing" that you are dreaming will more than likely cause your brain to rationalize the sensory input too, so "2d" environments would be rendered 3d. the characters themselves should be two dimensional unless your mental image of them exists as 3D somehow, or may be distorted figurewise.
an internet friend of mine told me once about a dream he had in which he self-actualized in gensokyo, i.e entered "lucid dreaming" mode. once he did, the mountains he previously scaled with ease became difficult as the effects, constructs and limitations of the "rational mind" came into play - gravity, strength, etc. as a result, he couldn't find a single 2hu and woke himself up by jumping down a chasm.
sleep-deprivation weakens your ability to dream for as long as you're deprived, keep that in mind
melatonin supplementation, i've seen people claim, increases the regularity of dreams.
my theory is that ambien should have the same effects on dreaming as klonopin. never tried it, but it works on the same receptor and doesnt have side effects that are as bad.
