They don't give a damn about the series because they spent the whole time convincing themselves it was about Kuroneko only to get slapped in the face when they realized it obviously wasn't. Too distracted by a side-character to bother with the actual romance which leads them to spite and misunderstandings.
You'd think you'd want to understand a character you love, but you guys are more interested in making up your own story for Ruri.
