If you have not seen 3.0 and don't know what happens in it, don't act like you do. That's just cheap.
Also, it's stupid to just assume that whatever happened "wasn't that bad" and that Rei's fans are just overreacting.
And finally, once you've said "Feel the irony. Feel it." when you clearly don't even understand the circumstances, just fucking admit that you've been an asshole and leave it at that. Everybody says stupid things sometimes, and the mature thing to do is admit it and not try to work yourself out of it by saying stuff that makes you look even MORE ignorant and stupid.
One last thing, actually. It's not a fucking contest. There's no competition between Rei and Asuka, so when something horrible happens to Rei, you don't say "well something bad happened to Asuka too and they were all 100% grown up and mature about it and never ever assholes".
