Telepathic link or not, it changes absolutely nothing regarding the situation of them being different characters - this is just you clinging onto anything that might validate your position; grasping for straws. Telepathic links or other plot magic does not make one character.
I don't get what you get out of insisting that Rei Q is Rei, or even a good portrayal of Rei. Favorite character you say, well you sure do seem to enjoy having the character voided by the appearance of Rei Q.
Let's say I give you for the sake of argument a temporary right that Rei Q is somehow despite all evidence, Rei Ayanami, won't you at least acknowledge that Rei Q is still wholly derogatory to Rei's character?
Not just Rei Q of course, but every single thing said about the character and what the character's existence implies.
