>>4021104Oh you're quite early in, to put it simply, SnK is two stories, one before the timeskip that correspond to the 3 first seasons/ first 2/3 of the manga and the post timeskip which is the last third/season, both stories have many links (some interesting recontextualisation, same characters, some similar themes) but the post-TImeskip has different setting, stakes, a large number of new characters, a very different tone and many old characters who act... differently.
Pre timeskip was adapted by a single studio and form a coherent, if flawed story, it's what SnK became popular for, post timeskip feels more like stitched together plot points, has characters that act OOC, flanderised/frustrating, there are two conflicts, one that make sense (no spoil) but underdevelopped, and another ("Eren becomes the main villain") which is completely forced [spoiler:lit]And could have been avoided by Mikasa not accidentaly Friendzoning eren[/spoiler:lit]
Now as for Mikasa, i'll put it straight, I love her, but everything after Season 2/Chapter 50 (so...40% of the way in..) is dissapointing and a waste of a potentially good character, there are some individual good scenes involving her after that, but her character stagnates before regressing severely in the last ~20% of the story, in the most frustrating way possible, the author clearly stopped giving a shit about her and just occasionally kept throwing new "attributes" at her that were never explored (there's a fucking) and call it a day. By the last couple volumes, I can't call her the same character I liked in the first season.
