She opened her eyes before sitting up and looking at the clock on the wall. It was eight-thirty, though usually much too early to awaken on a Saturday, Tsumugi Kotobuki donned her pink polkadotted housecoat and tiptoed downstairs, trying her best not to awaken the others living in her parents' vacation home.
Mugi was glad that she'd decided to spend a semester abroad; though she'd had to say goodbye to her friends, she knew it was only temporary.
Mugi planned on surprising her roommates with breakfast but she discovered her plan couldn't be fully realised when she stepped into the kitchen and saw Clammy sitting at the table, the remains of toast in front of him and a newspaper and a cup of coffee in his hands.
"Good morning, Clammy," Mugi smiled and began to prepare omlettes for the other two people still asleep. "You're up early; can I get you anything?" she said as she put the kettle on.
"No thanks," the man responded, looking at Mugi. "How did you sleep?"
"Well, thank you. Are you sure you don't want anything? I just got a new shipment of tea," Mugi cracked eggs into a pan.
"As long as you're already making it," Clammy mumbled, a slight pink in his cheeks.
