I'm not a regular in these threads but I want to hear you guys' opinion. It's about how you deal with a waifu that has a love interest. I've been playing Hyperdimension Neptunia for some years and despite me enjoying anime-related media like TV shows and videogames for almost 20 years, I never had a character I'd consider my waifu. I met IF (pic related) and couldn't help but fall madly in love with her and this feeling has not gone away in all this time. However she's the game's studio (Idea Factory) "pet" or character representation inside the game, and this studio is partners with Compile Heart, who has a character representation too (Compa). Both are partner studios who make the Neptunia videogames, so she comes as a pair with Compa in almost every game. There's been some light yuri subtext here and there over the games you could interpret as a joke from the studios about their partnership but suddenly the "shipping" became overly strong in the latest official Neptunia material like the monthly 4komas and the Neptunia OVA. You could even say it's canon and this has been breaking me ever since. I tried un-waifuing but I keep going back to her everytime I try to, I just love her that much but I cannot deal with the way the game companies have been handling her lately. So maybe any of you guys could give me advice about what to do in this situation.
