But he wasn't the only writer of the characters. He had others filtering his ideas. The ideas came from him, but many other ideas from other writers came with them.

I say, let it be. Anno created something beautiful. I thank him for that. What he did with the brand's name next. I don't care. You can't dirty something that has a beginning and a conclusion. With End of Evangelion, Neon Genesis Evangelion officially ended. It's complete. Rebuilds are a separate creation. It has it's own "Canon". Like a separate story. Same with Human Salvation Project. What happens to that Rei has nothing to do with the NGE Rei Ayanami.
