>The audience who are familiar with and fans of the original character will not automatically like the new one.
You can dislike and hate Rei Q and Rebuild 3 all you want. You can pretend they don't count. But in the real world they exist and the plot of Shinji fighting to get Rei Q back to how she was remains the plot of Shinji fighting to get Rei Q back to how she was no matter how many bitter posts you make denying it.
>The authority fallacy has been dead for a long time.
To the extent people have always been free to invent their own head cannon and make whatever random interpretation of a story, I have always said you are free to believe whatever you want. At the same time, millions of people know the story Anno has told so far while I doubt the number of people who care about your Cult's protest reaches three digits.
>I don't get why you obsess with the "it's about Shinji and Rei's bond"
As long as the main plot of the Rebuild movies is the subject we are talking abou Rei and Shinji.
>Rei Q does not have any development in the third movie...When Rei Q's previous state is undefined, she has not developed as character either.
Rei Q's previous state was defined and then redefined in the original series and then redefined again in Rebuild.
Even with an ignorant "Rei Q is not Rei" you're still wrong that Rei Q does not develop. She goes from only taking orders to thinking for herself, including picking up Shinji's music player. And of course normal people without mental problems make the connection this establishes with the end of Rebuild 2.
>It's quite literally, a pretentious cliche, faux development of a "doll girl" now doing something. If anything, it's made to be insulting.
The amazing irony of people who say they care about Rei treating Rei the way everyone in Rebuild except Shinji treats her. If you actually cared about Rei you would be rooting for Shinji to help save Rei and instead you reject her because she no longer suits you.
