But I agree with you here, it was bullshit, since Satsuki is person that approaches to everything with clear mind and cool head, she definetely planned her life further than her mom's death, since even when Ragyo died life fibers did not, there are a shit ton of them in universe so they can attack in any moment again and even if you make your point of living as ultimate fiber slaying machine you should not give up after reaching just a single checkpoint.
