>>3921195Honestly don't think I can get her to read any manga, she has said in the past that she struggles to get invested in comics since they lack a lot of the establishing narration and she finds them not as immersive.
I still have yet to read Wraith Arc (haven't read any of the spin-offs actually) so I'll give that a shot myself. Especially if they cover some of the symbolism like
>>3921240 I'm comoftable with my grasp on the basic motivation and understanding of the characters, but anything that adds new light to things sounds worth checking out.
>>3921223>What did she think of the art and music? Do you usually watch anime with her? After the first sitting of the TV show she said that the labyrinths reminded her of Yellow Submarine and the show was weird, but she'd keep watching it with me.
At the end she liked all the characters besides Kyoko (too self-serving) and really enjoyed Homura. She was distraught that Madoka and Sayaka "forgot about" their friend Hitomi.
Rebellion was too long for her, and she seemed to echo the fan sentiment that the first 40 minutes don't need to be there. Her biggest complaint though was that Madoka was already coming to take Homura away to be with her, so why did she need to snatch her away? No amount of explantation is going to change her mind.
That was the first full anime series I've gotten her to watch, she likes all the Miyazaki and Ghibli movies, and when I was a kid she'd sit in the room and watch OG Pokemon. Besides that though she just considers it my weird little hobby. I roped my siblings into sitting through it before last time I was in the mood, so with the new movie around the corner I decided to ask her this time.
Good news is that she said that Tuesdays can be my "weird movie" night and I can select something what to watch. I want to pick things that she might actually enjoy so I'll probably watch some Lupin films with her and maybe some others with widespread appeal. I don't want to scare her off.
