>>3858815The team is essentially the same size. The city atmosphere could contribute too, but it's also that there aren't as many moments where you get to just hang out as friends.
Also in P4 your party members awaken to their personas after you confront a shadow version of themselves. In P5 your party members similarly need to gain a certain level of resolve and self-awareness in order to awaken a persona, but they don't have entire palaces dedicated to them (for the most part) so while you still take an introspective look at them, it could be argued it's not as deep.
I feel like you still get to know them well, and I personally agree a bit more with having more friend moments in the story being missed.
An opinion that seems to be somewhat popular is that P5 is ultimately superior in execution, but P4 has a lot of peoples' favorite Scooby-gang of protags. Not that P5 isn't also great, P4 just really seems to shine in this particular regard.
