It would have been too impractical for them to do lives, radio shows, and similar events otherwise.
So unless this speculation is based on something other than the official announcement (unlikely, from a quick glance on Twitter), it's too early to go around claiming that this is going to replace μ's (at least not any more than Aqours did, but I promised not to get into that).
