I have a lot of respect for Valve in this, people constantly tell them to make e.g. portal 3 but they would much much rather stay respectful to the IP than potentially ruin it... I suppose it also helps that they make so much money with Steam that they don't need to make games anymore
I'm very glad it made you stronger though, it's still something I have to work on myself even though my case is far, far less bad
