The discussion reached nowhere near the hostility and quality nearing shitposting /pol/ gets, and was relatively on-topic, imo. There was an offshoot discussion about the nature of Otaku, and how they figure into Eva/Anno's views, but it was hardly uncivil, much less hostile.
And as mentioned before, I could see a legit reason behind deleting the replies with no image to accompany them, as they would technically be fair game for Mod Policy. But deleting legit content, as well as ontopic discussion, and saying "Because no content was being contributed," is just a dick move. Just my $0.02
