>>4107201Well, I don't know about the past, but based just on recent takes I've seen, they considered her more of a "female main character" type rather than the typical damsel in distress kind of heroine. I agree with them, in a lot of ways Shirou is the actual heroine of that route. Not that they don't have some bad takes themselves, and those sites aren't a very good indicator for the rest of Japan.
I guess some people can't see the romance unless it's in their face at all times. I wouldn't know, but maybe you just can't see it unless you're invested in Rin as something more than just an outer shell. I usually never pay attention to or care about romance in fiction myself. It just usually does nothing for me. Especially because of that it's notable that this one had me literally sobbing for weeks. I can't consider the payoff with Archer's last scene and the final scene in the classroom anything less than bombastic. Fuck it still brings tears to my eye even thinking about it

That's a cute figure by the way, I happen to have her sitting right here on my desk. I just wish I had one with her iconic SN outfits. It's unbelievable how few good ones there are and I just happened to miss the UBW one too. The only ones I have are that one and this recent wedding dress one.
