>>4260187I know there's no way Anno could've known this when making the original show, but the fact that NERV has their mitts all over the school and do some real glowie shit regarding the kids in the class freaks me the fuck out in concept and reminds me of some of the insanely unethical shit institutes like MIT did with kids like the radioactive oatmeal experiments, and found it sadly very realistic that this UN sponsored institute (NERV) would be given unlimited access to selecting kids to presumably torture to shit in contact & sync rate experiments send to their deaths, and I'm sure they weren't even allowed to talk about it to their parents or classmates besides "yeah I pilot these things"
Really makes you question people like Misato & Ritsuko who willingly work there without blowing the whistle on it especially after they figure out the selection process is bogus and it's just one person essentially drawing straws for all the kids in the class
