Chrome + adblock takes ~ 8 seconds to load an arbitrary page
Chromium without adblock takes ~ 5
I did use chromium a while back since chrome screwed up some compatibility with high contrast themes (bookmarks and context menus were white text with white background) but I didn't stick with it because I kept having problem with videos, despite installing the proper version of flash player.
That and it was either, don't update ever or update and watch them break more of your stuff.
