>>3220664>..and what allows him to continue doing that is split and conquer tactics combined with passivity. I also theorize [...]>As with the Asukafag [...]I fail to see how any of this matters, for the same reasons I wrote in previous posts. I feel we are turning in circles.
>There is a need, and they shouldn't be left alone to be loud and dumb. It hurts everyone else including themselves.Their opinions, words and actions shouldn't hurt you. They are free to hurt themselves, tho I'll always be there to lend them a kind hand if they have a change of heart.
>Not quite right. Remember when she stood up for Shinji? In pic related? By that point, Asuka wasn't a complete stranger to her and Shinji. Correcting her and defending Shinji was not an inconsequential endeavor, since they were stuck, forced to work together, and she knew the faith of mankind depended on their collaboration. Having a squad composed of members who mutually respect each other probably increases the odds of not fucking a mission up and dooming humanity. Mind you, I'm aware there certainly was frustration on Rei's part from having to hear her shittalk the only person she ever really liked.
>In short I don't quite get what point you're attempting to make.I'm simply reiterating one of Rei's most important message in the entire series, what she said to Asuka at the end of her case. She was trying to wake her up by criticizing her for "seeking to find herself in the perception of others". I think that's one of the most important lesson she thought us, and that is why I am so averse at the idea of going on a crusade to change random people's perceptions of a character. Rei is Rei. No smearing campaign can ever change that. No amount of shitposting will change her nature. Not even Anno, with all of his future work, can change what the character was in the original series.
Anyway, that's simply my way to see it. You're certainly free to do as you wish with that project of yours.
