when someone like sagebeard shows up to make a thread, he keeps it on topic and rarely if ever talks about himself unless anons thank him for a wonderful thread. you crave and seek attention so you feel the need to attach a name to your posts because as you said, why not, the name field exists so you need to use it. you are not a contributor to the board but instead just an attention whore
