Its not about enforcing rules, its about not lowering the quality of the board - if you don't care about posting cute images and only want discussion, then there are other boards that would fit your need better. Discussion is fine so long as you don't go out of your way to misuse the thread or board - given that not a single image was posted in any reply to your post and your post didn't encourage others to do something related to the thread, it really has nothing to do with /c/.
This isn't /a/, /adv/ or /r9k/. Its a thread about posting your waifu on a board mainly used for sharing images of anime girls. Discussion is great and fun, but keep it in line with the thread purpose and try to post an image when possible.
