>>4259725>maybe he was worried about Toji's sync rate being high enough that it could kill him?Had that even happened at that point? the only time I can think of prior to that episode where sync rates got so high that something happened was when he got absorbed into Unit 01 and met his mom, other than that there was really no precedent for him to think that unless he was legitimately high IQ and predicted it. The only time we see sync rates get so high that it physically injures the pilot to the point of death was in EoE with Asuka's last stand against the MPEs and that was from her getting her will to live and fight back after realizing her mom was with her the whole time.
