She thought she'd lock them up and do the same, and thought if she did that then they'd realize their wrongs and go back to being loving parents. But they didn't, so they died. And Yuno can't even be with the person she loves the most (Yuki) because the survival game. I feel really sorry for her, reminds me of Homura kind of. Always failing to protect the one she loves, like it's inevitable.
