>>4266328>yeah I'd imagine we either get new designs for units 5 & 6 for those two or perhaps the MP Evas make it to full productioniirc there was a Unit-06 in the rebuilds that had a fleshed out design, you could theoretically recycle that. As for the MP Evas, I was always under the impression that those were SEELE's own project, and that the whole point was to keep them secret from the rest of NERV. Though I could be forgetting something.
>Also Bardiel if you're including Rebuild continuity for what it does to Asuka but yeah the non humanoid angels seem to be the most remembered and popular among the fanbase, as well as some of the worst in regards to their wrath. In a scenario where the remaining pilots are all mentally tapped out, something like Bardiel that can possess an Eva and turn it against its own kind could make for a very compelling enemy if it's role is expanded on. The angels that cant necessarily be killed with the typical means of hand to hand combat were always very good at instilling a sense of hopelessness. who the angels end up targeting and who ends up killing them could also be swapped around here to great effect, I think.
>>4266329>Also the Vatican Treaty thing sounds so cool and makes me want an exploration into that. Is the Pope seen as some sort of high figure or ambassador in the UN enough to dictate policy regarding Eva & Angels? What is Christianity like in that universe since we know it still exists given in the TV show Asuka's mum has her service in a German church. Just so many questions to be had. if the dead sea scrolls were something that had existed since antiquity then id say its plausible that the church were the ones who first discovered them and associated the descriptions of the aliens that would later be the angels and gave them their names. So perhaps the Vatican was let in on the inner workings of NERV due to their knowledge on the dead sea scrolls?
