I personally can't stomach the idea of anyone intentionally hurting or killing my sweet Flayn, and no matter how much I harden myself it still gets to me. She is much too innocent and precious to ever deserve such a cruel fate, which is why it disturbs me even more to wonder what drives people to do it.
