So she has some nice memories with them. She didn't mention anything like that in the anime, but she does relate the story of the cat mansion to Koito, which I thought was a nice call back detail.

So depends on how cruel and evil we're talking about. If she is a criminal that's murdering innocent people then she'd have to be stopped. I don't believe Mai has it in her to do such things though, psychopaths are born not made according to studies, and I believe Mai is a genuinely kind and empathic person at heart. Though if the dimension itself is twisted in a kind of Bizarro world fashion that might actually be her nature, making her beyond saving, just like that world.
-I don't think she would unless there was a big reason for it. She never outright mentions it but I think Mai really values her humanity. As an ability user she already had to deal with discrimination a few times, as she mentioned to Koito. Such a thing would create a big gap between herself and her friends as well as the rest of humanity.
Also, she loves training and becoming stronger through effort, getting powers handed down to her on a plate just isn't her style.
