The idea of "sexualization" is pretty absurd. A beautiful, nubile girl like Rei is inherently sexually desirable regardless of her state of dress, and there's nothing vile in seeing her that way.
On the other hand, objectification is a genuine problem. Certainly there are ways of desiring a girl in an admiring, romantic way, but it can be difficult to avoid falling into more depraved desire that gets off on her submission or degradation. There are also troublesome forms of non-sexual objectification too- I find that a lot of moe/"cute" depictions of Rei and ideas about her are pretty infantilizing and objectifying.
