We all know how Fushimi is quite proficient in keeping the ending of this series obscured, and keeping especially Kirino's lines in check - from crossing that line where it could be explicitly taken as a confession of love. If anything, I think his answer was very good in making him seem not to be in any character's side in particular. If he would have said that Kirino was his favorite character, wouldn't people have taken that as confirmation that Kirino ending would be almost certain to come?
