I love this still from Splitting of the Breast. You could compare the entire scene to Shinji and Rei's interaction in Rei II - they are after all highly similar. (In that Shiji is recovering from an Angel battle in the cranial and nerve division of the hospital, and Rei has come to tell him what comes next/bring him his things. They also share the distorted blue lighting common to the hospital.)
But in E16 the tone of their interaction is so much warmer, compared to the coldness in E6. In E6, Rei wears a perpetual frown and states everything matter-of-factly, confronting Shinji's reluctance to act and desire to run away. She's telling Shinji that he has to go fight, but when he bristles, she points out that she can do it, as well, with an air of disapproval. In E16, she spontaneously tells him that he can stay in bed and recover, but Shinji responds that he's fine now.
This still comes right after that. "Well, that's good for you." Accompanied by an ever-so-faint smile, too, something rare for this character. There's so much meaning in that, and it's a wonderful moment in the series.
I've gotten a bit carried away in the discussion of this. Apologies - but I hope you enjoy this frame as well.
