ReiQ is clearly shitting on Rei, and it does not clearly illustrate anything because an entire new generation is now consuming the image of Rei as a puppet, and Asukafags and Kaworufags are reveling in this fact. If you think for even a second that this fanbase has the brainpower to think beyond parroting blogs and what Anno said, you're sadly mistaken.
The image of the new overwrites the old, and if anything people are trying to look on the changes as "what the original was supposed to be", something Anno even said a long time ago.
