I always thought these threads were fun because of the bantz between anons. It's not a complete all-out shitfling like it is on /a/, it's more like the occasional semi-joking zinger. It keeps threads entertaining, but at the same time it would get tiring if all threads on /c/ were like this.
It almost reminds me of the bantz you see on /int/ and affiliated boards, I think the fact that the witches on LWA are from all over the world reinforce that fact to some extent.
