This is an interesting tidbit I came upon while playing HA today, and bear with me if this is common knowledge. I play the PC version with the voice patch on. The scenes relating to Rin's drinking seem to be censored in the voice acting to talk about juice and constantly reassuring you that every reference to alcohol is for future reference only. I just found it funny how the spoken lines don't make any sense or match up with the text at all. They did a thorough cleanup of the script just for this.
The addition that she sometimes (in practical terms) drinks herself to sleep was possibly a little unnecessary, though...
