Personally, what I see is that Akuma Homura is that she's not holding her emotions and desires back any longer. Rather than the masculine, stoic, Hommando characters, it seems like she's now graceful, refined, and expressive.
Now, this used to just be my speculation, but a lot of official art (ignoring the pin-up posters by an ex-Xebec illustrator, which just seem hypersexualized and out-of-place in the meguca continuity, which hasn't even had a pantyshot) and doujin work has reinforced my ideas. Pic related.
