I don't think I got to insult you or anything, but if I did, I apologize. Too bad politeness is disappearing everywhere.
The fact is that I think Asuka and Shinji's contempt and misunderstandings clearly crossed the red line, even if they're 13 and 14 years respectively. Of course, I have experienced hatred and friendship towards my live, but not at the same level as these two children. Also, I think we are normal people, without any of the traumas and horrible experiences they have been through, so it's a bit absurd to see them with our principles. They're not normal teenagers.
Nevertheless, being as proud as Asuka (similar or even more, maybe), I would really find it difficult to forgive some of the things Shinji did and just accept him so easily (Remember that I'm talking about canon series, and not rebuild or Au, like the GoS2 images you've been posting).
Full understanding and acceptance after such events would be possible if they were saints and not the damaged children they are.
