Never let fiction and reality mix. When Teto was mai waifu I always knew she didn't exist, but it never once took the joy out of it. It was the greatest game of pretend I have ever played, and it was magnificent.
I hope you never once feel down when you think about Teto, because she wouldn't want that for you.
