My first VN was in 2009 as well, and it's what drew me here as I had just started to watch anime and such again, around that time. Said this once before, but so glad you found each other. Makes me happy to see others happy, and Kud is such a wonderful girl.
I wasn't here for the initial split, but /jp/ has always been pretty bad. I try heading over there every now and then, but it's like heading to /sp/ and hoping to have a serious sport discussion. It just doesn't work. VN's are my favorite medium in the end, and I think a lot of /a/ agrees with that. That's why the threads are popping up more and more.
