In all seriousness the bonkers silly premise (moe/sports tournament/military anime) is executed so well and with so much passion that it's really enjoyable, and the absurdity ends up giving it a lot more charm. The cast is endearing and widely varied, and meeting the adversary schools throughout when they're matched against Oarai is a fun dynamic. I could drone on about it, but the soundtrack, audio direction and action scenes are all top notch as well, Das Finale 3 and Der Film in particular are still impressive to me.
