So essentially what I'm telling you, is that there are many different theories made by fans, precisely because there IS no actual canonical answer, and the best we can do is an approximation.
Some believe it's Rei I in there. Some believe it's a portion of Rei I. Some believe it's Naoko Akagi. Some believe there's no soul, and a twisted reflection of Rei I. Some believe that it's a prototype of the dummy plug system, but no soul.
Like I said, I don't believe that it's Rei I or even a portion of Rei I in there. I believe that these wikis are, with their wording and "political agendas" leading people to the authors pet theory. There is an inherent bias in the articles you've seen there, and particularly ones written on Evageeks. It is incapable of discussing theories versus each other, and claims that e.g the "Rei I theory" is the most prevalent, despite the fact that it's only the most prevalent on a single thread on evageeks.
It's a problem that plagues much of the fanbase.
