and FYI, the "original" Rei Ayanami in ANIMA is also terrible. There's little to the character besides adding some irrational fear of "becoming" Yui, which is only sensible in a meta-contextual way because that's what they're rewriting Rei into at the moment - and that's horrible. It's degrading the character and undoing any sort of development the character has.
"Our" point is that something like quatre or Rei Q is intolerable for the above reasons, and many others which I'm sure you've heard. It doesn't do anything but stagnate the character.
You're the one not able to participate or debate. In ANIMA, as in Rebuild, the deterioration of Rei's character is done through trivializing it by adding pointless, undeveloped "clones" that don't form a strong character on their own much less as some sort of fucked up collective.
All it does is prevent Rei from having a solid character, it's the only function it serves.
