If you take your time to explain it to them why they are wrong, they will usually concede. The people on tend to have a hatchet against Rin so they're a bit special. I guess I'm a bit surprised that it isn't that common among the Japanese, given that dumb joke in the final Tiger Dojo made by Taiga about Rin's being irrelevant in UBW and how DEEN butchered her and her romance in their UBW film adaptation (based on how they adapted none of the romantic scenes before Your distortion, including the confession, but almost all of the ones AFTER it, I suspect they realized that Rin actually IS important upon reaching that scene).
