I already own a pair and a pair of MDR-7506s, so I know that these are good headphones, they are very neutral and benefit from equalisation if you want something with more character or warmth. The MDR-V6s are only £13 more anyway. I was also considering the Sony MDR-V55s but they would be to big and heavy for the person I'm buying them for.
