>>3062531>3.33 went all-in to destroy ReiI can agree with that. 3.33 was the worst of the 3 films so far and ReiQ is one of the dumbest addition to Evangelion. But there are far more egregious problems with 3.33 and Rebuild in general, something brain-dead waifufags like you are incapable of grasping.
For a "remake", merely being the same is not good enough. It also needs to be a good work in and of itself. There are several problems with 1.11. As a film it is structured very poorly. The Dick-shaped (the shape is not accidental) angel fight is dramatically unnecessary, because Touji and Kensuke have a vastly reduced role in Rebiuld, and that fight was all about Shinji's relationship and a way for himself to measure himself up with his male peers (size up each others' dicks). That element is stripped away in 1.11 and it becomes a pointless (and pretty lame) action scene. Then there is the slightly faster pacing, which ruins tension in several scenes because the film wants to go through the narrative checklist and reach the end of episode 6 in order to introduce Asuka in the second one. Also, its animation is, in too many cuts, simply not up to par, being recycled animation from a 1995 TV show. 1.11 is closer to a cheap TV film than a cinematic movie. That is also true for layouts and storyboarding which are very uncinematic, because obviously, they originate in NGE. Compare with EoE, which had production values fit for the big screen.
1.11 was cheap, half-assed mediocrity. It is noteworthy that your only problem with it is the awfully redrawn scene with Rei in the plug after the Ramiel fight, which doesn't come anywhere close to the one in Death (which was, surprisingly, for a film that also recycled most of its cuts, a whole lot more cinematic on the whole than 1.11) but that scene serves as a good example, since the whole film is done like that. You just didn't pay it any mind, because you're a waifufag brainlet.
The problems with Rebuild start with 1.11.
