I know it's Eila's birthday, but it's also Ottilie Kittel's birthday. Kittel is part of the 503rd JFW in Orussia.
Kittel is based on Otto Kittel, a Luftwaffe ace who served on the Eastern Front in JG-54. He was Germany's fourth-highest-scoring ace with 267 victories in just 580 missions. He was awarded the Knight's Cross with Swords, Germany's second-highest military award, just below the Diamonds. He was KIA in February 1945.
In 1943 at Kursk, one mission saw Kittel, Hartmann, Barkhorn, Krupinski, and Rall all covering Rudel's Stukas in a joint action that involved some of the best aces in the war flying in a single formation. Livyak (Sanya) was involved in the same action, though on the other side.
