>>3718474>I saw it at my favorite theater at a very good time in my lifeI just want to dwell on that for a bit - not Ghibli related, but I saw Weathering With You in cinemas with good circumstances. As a result, it was a far more memorable film to me than its semi-prequel Your Name, which I only saw on a blu ray one evening. I for sure understand this aspect of enjoyability.
>I live in an area of the country where there's a lot of water, in fact there's even a salt marshVery nice. I am in the UK, never too far from the coast. I am considering visiting the original North Norfolk coast setting the book was set in, with all the salt marshes, samphire, sea lavender, etc. While yet to visit it, I managed to connect to the story because the book quaintly depicts british life in a million different small details, was real pleasant.
>I completely understand the whole "inside vs. outside" dichotomy For sure. More complicated than that even, dealing with not feeling like a good enough friend, the struggle of opening up a vulnerable side of oneself, etc.
>Part of its lack of recognition too is that there are a lot of people who don't give non-Miyazaki directors a shotThis is true. Maro-sama (Yonebayashi) most accomplished work stands to be Arrietty. While it did do alright commercially, it's still not as well recognised.
