She is able to relate to him due to the fact both of them have a similar family situation. Her feelings for him are platonic though for the most part, her feelings towards him are the same as those towards a little brother, as stated quite a few times throughout the series.
-That's an interesting question. I think it would have to be honesty, uprightness, that is to say a strong desire to set things right. I do believe she likes to live in a way that allows her to stay true to her own feelings.
