An interesting evolution of the problem of the first circle of Hell, of those righteous who nevertheless died before they could accept the truth about the Resurrection as retold in the New Testament. This seems to be more of a universal reconciliation option, and may support the view that human souls are naturally immortal, but I'm not sure.
