Krupinski ended WWII with 197 confirmed victories and a Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves. His actual score was likely closer to 210, because he had a dozen or so "probables" that he didn't bother to file. He also deserved the Swords.
Between the end of the war in 1945 and the establishment of the new West German Air Force in 1955, Krupinski worked with the CIA and West German intelligence. He never revealed much about this part of his life, even in later interviews. Rumor is that he performed on-the-ground intelligence in East Germany and smuggled out high-value POWs. It was basically James Bond stuff.
