Clear analogy to Rei clone bodies and Rei soul, right? Here is the part where the analogy breaks down.
You can copy different songs onto each player. You can copy the songs onto a different music player.
The clone bodies and Rei's soul isn't like that. You don't make a clone of Asuka and put Rei's soul in her. You don't make a Gendo clone and put part of Yui and part of himself and part of Ritsuko.
Rei Q is connected to every other Rei we've seen. They simply haven't been unified body and soul yet.
