I have a thought on how to figure it out, but i have questions that need to be answered.
1. In Japan, what month do classes for freshman begin?(This will determine if we start the count before or after her birthday on this year.
2. What age is a freshman Japanese girl when school is just starting?
Using this information, we can determine her current age by saying this:
The first episode of K-on! aired on this year(--), in this episode Ritsu is (--) years old. It is now 2013. So minus the episode air date year from the current year, then add that onto Ritsu's 'beginning' year, and boom, we have her current age.
Is my logic flawed, and is there something I'm missing?
Let's do an example.
Let's say their school started before August 20/21, and she is 14 upon entering.
Let's say the episode first aired in 2009.
2013-2009=4, so she would be 18, except her birthday just passed, so it becomes 19.
Is my math right?
