>>4069913>Except that Lilith is a goddess that seeds life rather than causes deathShe does both, as is balanced. She births souls and then consumes them again, the beginning & the end share the same moment.
And unlike Adam, she and her children have the Fruit of Knowledge ("and the day that thou eatest of it, thou shalt surely die") rather than the Fruit of Life.
>and once Shinji is in the picture Rei would rather be the innocent girl that gets saved and marriedPerhaps! But that's the temptation that she has to overcome, her "escapism". And that's exactly what Armisael battle is about- Rei has to remain loyal to her sacred duty, rather than give into her personal feelings, which would doom her, Shinji, and all her children.
>>4069972I know the feel. I really love Rei, but I'm always unsure of how to relate to her, whether it's erotic or purely romantic or worshipful or purely æsthetic & ethical. And I feel guilty with ooc images, or those that suggest a love for her that isn't the pure love she observes. Take pic related- is this my dearest dream, or a disgusting degradation of Rei?
Regarding Shinji- I don't hate him but I don't really like him either. It irritates me that he never tried to become closer to Rei. In the end she saves him, and not at all the other way around.
